Retention: Google retains API data for up to 55 days for abuse monitoring. Not used to train AI models. SmarterGerman stores only anonymized usage statistics.

Important: Do not share sensitive personal data (passwords, financial info, health data, ID numbers) during AI conversations.

Sendy (Email Marketing)
Self-hosted email marketing platform for subscribers who sign up via our website or social media lead forms.
Hosting: Self-hosted on SmarterGerman servers (Germany). Your data stays in Germany.
Data collected: Email address, name (if provided), subscription date, country.

Facebook / Instagram Lead Forms
We collect email addresses through lead forms. Data collected: email address, name (if provided).

When you purchase the Article Buster app, your email address is immediately converted to a SHA-256 hash. The original email is not stored.
Purpose: To verify your purchase via "Restore Purchase" in the app.

OpenAI (AI Explanations)
The Writing Tool uses OpenAI's API to generate grammar explanations.

OpenAI retains API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it. Not used to train models.

Address Search
When you enter a property address, it is forwarded to Google's Custom Search API to search for rental listings on major German property portals.

Rate Limiting
